It has been a while that I have put in a some writing on this blog. I am happy to announce that I am back on track... I lost some weight, I have started to make some new dishes again, I found a new passion for my work again, and many more... Now, what I really need to focus is my new house. I have put a new coat of paint at the exterior of my house, which I think there still need a lot of touch up. I think I am going to put some gel stone at the front of my house as decoration which is cool.
I will be 29 in few more days... man, 29 years old. I will be 30 next year... but due to the new project, I will not able to celebrate it in style. Yup, another undertaking of new project, where I have to write out the proposal by next week while on the trip to Terenganu...It is a drag... but I WILL DO IT!!! JUST DO IT!!!
Get to know two new female friends (not gal friends)this week. They are friendly and pretty helpful. Good to know them during my business trip. Anywhere will be at the airport later and hope to get some GODIVA chocolates for myself....hahahahahah!
Hmmm.... if we start counting, there are too many 'I' in this blog... please be kind to kick some sense into me

Be Cool
I believe this fella have the right mind of saying that people nowaday are not cool at all... they are all stressed up especially with the new gadgets... We should learn from him.
By Christian McBride
(Growing up in Philadelphia, Christian McBride learned how to play bass from his father and uncle. His grandfather taught him how to be cool. McBride has played with jazz legends McCoy Tyner and Freddie Hubbard, as well as pop artists BeBe Winans and Sting.)
All Things Considered, January 22, 2007 · I believe people have become tighter, meaner and less tolerant than ever. I never remember people being so uncool. I don't remember people getting the third degree because they decided to wear brown shoes instead of black. If you get too close to someone on the road, they want to get out and shoot you for possibly hitting their car. What's wrong with these people?
I believe it pays to be cool. Most people in this day and age are always terribly stressed and hypersensitive to absolutely everything. They will age quickly. Cool people stay young forever.
Ten years ago, cell phones were still a luxury. People still had "land lines" for their primary phone numbers. Remember when it was okay to have dial-up? Now, people don't even bother asking for a home number anymore. Is it because we're so busy, people don't even bother being at home anymore? Or is business so important that people need to get in touch with you upon demand? Didn't people survive just fine not being contacted by their boss while having dinner with their families?
As for the Internet, it amazes me that when you walk into a Starbucks, it looks like CompUSA with all the doggone laptops and people stressing out over whatever. When people need to work on stressful work-related issues on their laptops, they go to Starbucks to drink coffee?
Me, on the other hand, I'm cool! Why do I know that? Because I sleep well at night, and I work with people who apparently like to work with me.
Now let me make something very, very clear: I'm not always cool. I've had my meltdowns in life. Once I had a musician in my band who was a little less than cool — he was flat out lazy! After 15 months of playing the same music, he never bothered to memorize it. Instead of pulling him aside and addressing the situation like a rational person would have done, I let him have it like I've never let anyone have it before. After it was over, I realized that I'd cleared the room. Everyone was so scared (or annoyed), that they just left. Well, "lazy guy" left the band and has never spoken to me ever again. I'm very sorry for that. I wish I could have that moment back, but I can't. I can only learn from that, and I try very hard not to have another meltdown, ever.
Pleasing everyone doesn't always mean saying "yes" or "that's great" or "no problem." Sometimes you have to say the opposite, but with a clear, sensible and gracious tone. Being cool is not what you say or do, but how you say or do it.
So I say, "Be cool." You'll see more. You'll learn more. You'll make better decisions. You'll be happier.

Morning Edition, February 26, 2007 · I believe we have the power to create our own happiness. I believe the real magic in the world is done by humans. I believe normal life is extraordinary.
I was sitting in my car at a stoplight intersection listening to the radio. I was, I guess, lost in the moment, thinking how happy I was to be inside my nice warm car. It was cold and windy outside, and I thought, "Life is good."
Now, this was a long light. As I waited, I noticed two people huddled together at the bus stop. To my eyes, they looked uncomfortable; they looked cold and they looked poor. Their coats looked like they came from a thrift store. They weren't wearing stuff from The Gap. I knew it because I'd been there.
The couple seemed to be doing their best to keep warm. They were huddled together, and I thought to myself, "Oh, those poor people in that punishing wind."
But then I saw their faces. Yes, they were huddling, but they were also laughing. They looked to be sharing a good joke, and suddenly, instead of pitying them, I envied them. I thought, "Huh, what's so funny?" They didn't notice the wind. They weren't worried about their clothes. They weren't looking at my car thinking, "I wish I had that."
You know when a single moment feels like an hour? Well, in that moment, I realized I had assumed this couple needed my pity, but they didn't. I assumed things were all bad for them, but they weren't. And I understood we all have the power to make moments of happiness happen.
Now, maybe that's easy for me to say. I feel lucky to have fans around the world, a house with a roof and a wife who puts up with me. But I felt this way even when I was working at Long John Silver's. I worked there for 11 years as a fry cook. When you work at a place that long, you see teenagers coming in on their first dates; then they're married; then they're bringing in their kids. You witness whole sections of people's lives.
In the beginning, it seemed like a dead end job. But at least I had a job. And frankly, it was easy. After two weeks, I knew all I needed to know, and it freed my mind. The job allowed me to dream about what my life could become.
The first year I worked there, we got robbed. I lay on the floor. I thought I was going to die. I didn't think I stood a chance. But everything turned out all right. A lot of people look at life as a series of miserable tasks, but after that, I didn't.
I believe this is something all of us can do: Try to be happy within the context of the life we are actually living. Happiness is not a situation to be longed for or a convergence of lucky happenstance. Through the power of our own minds, we can help ourselves. This I believe.""

What is Zen and what is Mindfulness?
Zen, the Sanskrit word for meditation, is a discipline. The purpose is to clear the mind of the chaos of everyday life in order to achieve a greater state of harmony. Following are some Zen Sayings you can use as an exercise in Mindfulness...
In walking, just walk. In sitting, just sit. Above all, don't wobble.
When the day gets long and contentious, I hold fast to my breath as a tiller and take each wave as it comes.
Do not seek to follow in the footsteps of the men of old; seek what they sought. Zen is your everyday thought.
The bird of paradise alights only on the hand that does not grasp.
The quieter you become, the more you are able to hear.
To find your way, you must close your eyes and walk in the dark.
Knowing others is wisdom, knowing yourself is enlightenment.
The way is not difficult to discern. Seek it within.
Sitting quietly, doing nothing, spring comes and the grass grows by itself.
Everything the same; everything distinct.

Oolong Tea
Got this from Mr. Lim's blog
OOLONG TEA……
A carrot, an egg, and a cup of Oolong tea…You will never look at a cup of Oolong the same way again.
A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.
Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed Oolong tea. She let them sit and boil; without saying a word.
In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl.
Then she ladled the Oolong out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked, “Tell me what you see.”
“Carrots, eggs, and Oolong tea,” she replied.
Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard boiled egg.
Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the Oolong. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma The daughter then asked, “What does it mean, mother?”
Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity: boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The Oolong tea was unique, however. After they were in the boiling water , they had changed the water color and taste.
“Which are you?” she asked her daughter. “When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a Oolong tea?
Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?
Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?
Or am I like the Oolong tea? The tea actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the tea, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest, do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg or a Oolong tea?
May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy.
The happiest of people don’t necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can’t go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling.
Live your life so at the end, you’re the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.
You might want to send this message to those people who mean something to you; to those who have touched your life in one way or another; to those who make you smile when you really need it; to those who make you see the brighter side of things when you are really down; to those whose friendship you appreciate; to those who are so meaningful in your life.
If you don’t send it, you will just miss out on the opportunity to
brighten someone’s day with this message!

The stupid bear
Two more days mark the day of the 9th anniversary of my first puppy love... I am not naming anyone here... I know someone will kick my butt for writing this article. But,what is puppy love? According to Wikipedia:
"Puppy love is an informal term for feelings of love, particularly between young people during adolescence, so-called for its resemblance to the affection that may be felt towards a puppy dog. The term is often used in a derogatory fashion, describing emotions which are shallow and transient in comparison to other forms of love such as romantic love."
I have to admit that I did not handle it well that caused alot of heartaches in the latter day... I have to apologize to many people for that and I sincerely do...
It is all "under the carpet now", it is nothing important now... However, when this happened, this 'stupid bear' do received many supports...thank you.

The self discovery
How to solve all these problems that been piling up in your life recently? It is not an easy task. This is because we know that there are so many roads ahead, and which is the right road to be taken and which is the road less taken?
I am in one of the dilemma right now... I just took some quiz on the web and it seemeed that I have some depression problem... but first of all what is depression? This is a short excerpt from WebMD that defined depression:
Everyone at one time or another has felt depressed, sad, or blue. Being depressed is a normal reaction to loss, life's struggles, or an injured self-esteem. But sometimes the feeling of sadness becomes intense, lasting for long periods of time and preventing a person from leading a normal life. Depression that has these characteristics is a treatable medical condition called major depressive disorder, one of a number of depressive illnesses. Types of depression include: Major depression, chronic depression (dysthymia), bipolar depression, and seasonal depression (seasonal affective disorder or SAD).
According to a report from the National Institute of Mental Health, nearly 18.8 million Americans over the age of 18 suffer from major depression. Suicide, closely linked to depression, is the third leading cause of death in 10- to 24-year-olds. Unfortunately, most people never seek treatment. Left undiagnosed and untreated, depression can worsen, lasting for years and causing untold suffering, and possibly even result in suicide.
What Are the Symptoms of Depression?
These are some of the signs and symptoms of depression that you should be aware of:
* Sadness
* Loss of enjoyment from things that were once pleasurable
* Loss of energy
* Feelings of hopelessness or worthlessness
* Difficulty concentrating
* Difficulty making decisions
* Insomnia or excessive sleep
* Stomachache and digestive problems
* Sexual problems (for example, decreased sex drive)
* Aches and pains (such as recurrent headaches)
* A change in appetite causing weight loss or gain
* Thoughts of death or suicide
* Attempting suicide
Well, I have several of the major symptoms...and again the solution is to do more exercises.
I am making more self discovery about myself and I hope that solving this problem will make me a better man.
